This Tuesday, we will launch the Literacy Commons, a new venture in local publication that may v ery well revolutionize the way children and families learn and learn to read.

Next week 25 cultural educators (from museums, galleries, performance groups, historic sites, events, etc.) will come together with 25 writing teachers from the Louisville (Kentucky) Writing Project. In the course of a morning, each pairing will identify a picture book focus that will showcase some genuinely wonderful aspect of the cultural institution and begin the (short) process of composing the text and images representing that focus into a wonderful puicture book for children.
